Pink Book Bands (Level 1)

Pink Banded books serve as the introduction of fundamental reading concepts and skills to early readers. This band includes the first level of reading scheme books. Pink Banded Books are tailored to children in Reception and Year 1 who are entirely new to reading. These books are usually around 10 pages long, up to 5 words per page. The language used in Pink Band Books is usually fully decodable as pupils begin phonics and reading with the support of teachers and teaching assistants.
