We're delighted to share that the Hideous History series by our Publishing team has been nominated for Accelerated Reader's Quiz Writer's Choice Award in the Series Category. This award is part of Renaissance's annual What Are Kids Reading Report, which offers insight into what children have read during the 22/23 school year. Hideous History was chosen out of the many 1,000s of titles available across Accelerated Readers by their quiz makers.
Hideous History is one of our Hi-Lo (High Interest, Low Ability) series and includes four titles which are all a part of Accelerated Reader's reading scheme:
- Cruel Crimes (AR Level 4.1)
- Disgusting Disease (AR Level 4.2
- Dreadful Disaster (AR Level 4.0)
- Woeful War (AR Level 4.6)
This series has an interest age of 9-12 year-olds who have a reading age of 7-8. Hideous History takes a look into the past and how miserable it could be. From wars, disease, disasters and crime all over the place, readers need to be brave and they journey through the past and see how life used to be.
